Caustic Soda or Sodium Hydroxide is manufactured by the electrolysis of salt brine using membrane and mercury cell technology. The installed capacity of Grasim Chemical Division is 440 TPD for 46 - 48.5% Lye and 50 TPD for 99.8% Flakes. This capacity is the second largest in India.
Caustic Soda is available in two forms viz. Caustic Soda Lye and Caustic Soda Flakes.
Caustic Soda Lye
The Lye form of Caustic Soda is available at 46 - 48.5% concentration on commercial basis. It is transported in tankers of various capacities.
Caustic Soda Flakes
Caustic Soda Flakes is available at 98% plus concentration and is packed in 50 Kg bags.
